Chris Foote has been living and skiing in Banff for most of the last 20 years. He was born in Red Deer where he started skiing soon after he learned to walk. Chris then spent a short time in Fort McMurray where he ski patrolled while still in his teens and worked as a mail man.
Chris loves skiing at ski resorts and knows them intimately. He has skied over 1000 days at Sunshine and Lake Louise alone. His skiing style is fast and fluid with big turns. In the 2017 – 18 snow season he decided to ski the vertical distance of the International Space Station to sea level. He ended up exceeding his goal with a total of 1.6 million vertical feet averaging more than the vertical of Mount Everest to sea level per day.
Skiing is the one passion that has remained consistent for Chris. Before moving to Banff he canoed 3000km through northern Canada. His other hobbies have been horseback riding, flyfishing, Astronomy and snorkeling. He has also traveled around Latin America and spent three years in Colombia.
Chris still lives in Banff with his wife Marcela. Together they have a photography business specializing in fashion and weddings. When the snow melts Chris pilots sailplanes up and down the Columbia Valley flying out of the Invermere Soaring Centre.
